Purpose of the Workshop:
The possible association between the gravitational wave event GW190521 detected by LIGO and the optical transient ZTF19abanrhr has roused the wave to the research upsurge of astrophysical phenomena in the accretion disk of an active galactic nucleus (AGN). Due to strong accretion, the dynamical evolution and the radiative feature of stellar objects in the disk (such as stars and compact objects) differs from normal cases. These objects are called accretion-modified stars (AMS). At the same time, the relevant feedback process will also cause significant changes in the accretion disk itself. The main purposes of this workshop include (1) to share the observational/theoretical progress in this field, (2) to discuss the detection possibility of kinds of transients occurred in the AGN disk by the next generation of space/ground telescopes, (3) to promote collaboration among participants.
